There are plenty of opportunities in the Utrecht region to make an important contribution to making the energy supply more sustainable and thus achieving the climate goals. A planned research drill for EBN's national SCAN program east of the city of Utrecht is interesting for future developments.

The horticultural area in Someren/Asten also wants to become more sustainable. The heat demand in this area is enormous. In Southeast Brabant, we see several options for geothermal energy. Not only the deeper layers could offer potential, the shallower layers are also eligible.

There is an extensive Eneco heat network in the Ypenburg district of The Hague. The plan is to build a geothermal source with heat pumps to provide heat to these homes.

Eight greenhouse companies in Vierpolders (municipality of Brielle, South Holland) have taken the initiative to jointly develop a geothermal project to provide heat to their greenhouses.

The De Constant Rebecque Plein (CRP) project, at the Uniper Power Plant, will make the existing main heat networks in The Hague more sustainable. Eneco will ensure the customer's supply of sustainable heat. The Hague Geothermal Energy wants to achieve this by drilling four holes into the Delft Sandstone between 2300 and 2500 m deep.
