The Hague Geothermal Energy Leyweg, or HAL. A unique project in the Netherlands where a geothermal project has started on the Leyweg next to the Haga hospital. The project uses 2 wells that have been drilled to a depth of more than 2000 meters, that extract hot water from the earth. The aboveground installation extracts the sustainable heat from the water and transfers it to an Eneco distribution network, which transports the heat to customers, homes and companies. In addition to being an operator, Gaia Energy is also one of the shareholders in this project.

Haagse Aardwarmte B.V. is also a shareholder of Haagse Aardwarmte Leyweg B.V. Within this consortium, Gaia Energy is developing geothermal projects in other regions in The Hague, such as Ypenburg, Noukoop, De Constant Rebecqueplein, Binckhorst, Mariahoeve and Rijswijk.
