Gaia Energy is busy preparing for geothermal energy in the Bommelerwaard region. Currently, research is being carried out into the subsoil and the heat demand is also being analyzed. When the research is successful, a start will be made on developing the geothermal source. The project is unique because, at a depth of 1300 meters, it will be one of the first shallow geothermal projects in the Netherlands. Gaia Energy uses the latest innovative techniques and lessons learned in the development of other geothermal projects to make the source as efficient and safe as possible.

Within the horticultural areas, there is currently close cooperation with the municipality of Zaltbommel and the gardeners on sustainable solutions for replacing heat, CO2 and electricity. Gaia Energy is proud of this collaboration and is convinced that geothermal energy will become a safe, sustainable and reliable alternative to natural gas heat within the municipality of Zaltbommel.
