The Hague Geothermal Energy: De Constant Rebecqueplein

The De Constant Rebecque Plein (CRP) project, at the Uniper Power Plant, will make the existing main heat networks in The Hague more sustainable. Eneco will ensure the customer's supply of sustainable heat. The Hague Geothermal Energy wants to achieve this by drilling four holes into the Delft Sandstone between 2300 and 2500 m deep. The Delft Sandstone is a formation that has been shown to be suitable for geothermal energy extraction, because a large number of geothermal projects in the region are already extracting heat from this layer. In addition to being an operator, Gaia Energy is also one of the shareholders in this project.
In addition to the De Constant Rebecqueplein project, Gaia Energy is also researching and/or developing geothermal projects in other regions in The Hague, such as Leyweg, Ypenburg, Noukoop, Binckhorst, Mariahoeve and Rijswijk.
